A linocut is different from a print because it is hand created by the artist. A linocut is the process in which an artist creates an art piece on a linoleum sheet. The artist then carves the linoleum surface of the artwork to create a linocut print. After the sheet is carved, the artist then inks the sheet with paint and presses the final piece onto paper. Linocuts are essentially an original piece from an artist, not a print.
All of the linocuts on our website are pressed onto thick watercolor paper by the artist in their studio. They are signed, numbered, and titled by the artist as well. These artworks ship flat in a box from Uncommon Bliss.
